Holly brings a unique blend in her approach to musical theater, by combining her classical and contemporary vocal training with her background in the Meisner acting technique. Using Sanford Meisner’s foundation of “the reality of doing,” Holly helps each individual use a set of tools to live truthfully under their personal set of imaginary circumstances.
As a working actor, Holly practices what she teaches on a daily basis. She works with each student to “speak their language” and help them find their nugget of truth as they approach song and text. She believes in a safe and positive learning environment and strives to empower artists to live boldly and fearlessly in their truth.
Holly studied the Meisner Technique in New York City at the JoAnna Beckson Studio, and subsequently apprenticed under JoAnna Beckson to earn her teaching credentials in the Meisner Method.
Holly has taught, and is available to teach, both in the USA and in Europe. She taught at the Joop van den Ende Academy in Hamburg, Germany, until it's closing, and she is currently a freelance docent at Norddeutsche Musical Akademie, where she teaches song interpretation. She taught vocal and acting technique for the young professional child actors for TINA – The Tina Turner Musical , at the Operettenhaus Theater in Hamburg and currently teaches vocal technique for the young Anna & Elsa professional child actors in Disney's, Die Eiskönigin (Frozen) - Das Musical at the Stage Theater an der Elbe in Hamburg. She is the founder and teacher of her "Meisner with Music," "Meisner with Monologues" and "Meisnering yourSELF" online and in-person master classes.
In addition to teaching all ages and levels, Holly invests in the talent of tomorrow by managing both the Stagecoach Hamburg-Mitte and Stagecoach Berlin-Mitte locations of the well-known UK based franchise, Stagecoach Performing Arts School.

What is it exactly?
"Meisner with Music" is a Master Class for Professionals, Advanced Students and Beginner Students. In this series of Master Classes, the Sanford Meisner Acting Technique is applied to the way one tells a story through singing. Sanford Meisner was an American actor and acting teacher who developed a method of acting based on “the reality of doing” and the philosophy that “the actor's chief instrument is himself.” Holly helps students develop a set of tools to approach acting through song. Each Master Class Session consists of 4 Online or In-Person classes where Active Participants begin with 30 minutes of targeted basic Meisner exercises and then have approximately 20 minutes every session to work on songs of their choosing as well as observing the other participants work on their material for the remainder of the time.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, all of Holly's Spring 2020, “Meisner mit Musik” Master Classes were successfully moved to an online zoom format. It was so soul-filling and everyone was really excited that it worked so well. This is how the Online format of this Master Class was born. Going forward, students can choose to take part in the "Meisner with Music" Master Classes online or in-person.
