"Meisner with Music" Master Classes
What is it exactly?
"Meisner with Music" is a Master Class for Professionals, Advanced Students and Beginner Students. In this series of Master Classes, the Sanford Meisner Acting Technique is applied to the way one tells a story through singing. Sanford Meisner was an American actor and acting teacher who developed a method of acting based on “the reality of doing” and the philosophy that “the actor's chief instrument is himself.” Holly helps students develop a set of tools to approach acting through song. Each Master Class Session consists of 4 Online or In-Person classes where Active Participants begin with at least 30 minutes of targeted basic Meisner exercises and then have approximately 15-20 minutes every session to work on songs of their choosing as well as observing the other participants work on their material for the remainder of the time.

When: March 2024 - Class schedule will be built based on the participants. Groups will be comprised of 4-6 members, grouped by appropriate skill level. Once the groups have been determined, we will collectively agree to 4 separate dates and times within the month that accommodate the group. Given our current “home office” lifestyle, we will have the flexibility to tailor the scheduling to each small group of participants.
Where: ONLINE using Zoom (everyone will participate from their remote location …BONUS: You can even take class in your Pajamas!)
What: A Professional, Advanced Student and Beginner Student Level Master Class Consisting of 4 Online Zoom Sessions
The Class will begin with targeted basic Meisner exercises. Each active participant will have approximately 15 minutes every session to work on songs of your choosing as well as observing the other participants work on their material for the remainder of the time. You will learn to apply the Meisner Technique in your storytelling through song and Holly will help you develop a set of tools to approach your material. Bring your current audition material, build your audition book, work on something you always wanted to work on, sharpen your audition skills, ... it’s your choice. This master class is to help you streamline your approach to material and to keep your creative juices flowing. The thinking actor is a working actor!
Cost: CORONA RECOVERY ONLINE REDUCED RATE
Active Participants: 150€
Passive Participants: 50€
Prices are for 4 sessions. (Groups are limited to 6 active participants and 5 passive participants. Sessions cannot be separated.)
***Due to the limitations of our online format, we will use pre-recorded accompaniment tracks. You will be responsible to organize your own accompaniment and play them on your device at home (to avoid sound delays and internet issues). If you need a pianist to record your songs, please let me know and I can put you in touch with a pianist prior to the start of our class who can deliver the recordings electronically.***
